Dia de los muertos
Dear Friends,
This year, we will once again build an alter at home to honor and remember Zachary and celebrate dia de los muertos. Last year we invited our family to send us prayers for Zachary, which we kept on the alter, and read at the end of the celebration, since geography prevents many of us from being together in person at times like this. This tradition is new for us, and we’re still figuring out what works for remembering and honoring Zachary’s memory during this important time of year.
For this year’s festivities, I’d like to extend an invitation to remember and celebrate Zachary’s spirit to all of our friends. If you’d like your prayer, wishes, or message for Zachary to be laid at our family alter, please leave us a comment here and I’ll print out and include it with those from the family. (If you’d like your message to be private and unpublished in the comments section, let us know and we’ll keep it off zacharymichaelcruz.com but include it at the alter.)
Thank you for your kind words and deeds; I’m not sure if you realize, but it’s only been twenty months since Zachary’s been gone. That’s not very long at all, really… Your memories of my son help keep him alive in my heart. For that, I am indebted to you.
Yours,
Frank Cruz
